Terrell Lewis "DJ T. Lewis"
OTHER EDUCATION
- Jackson State University
Terrell Lewis, better known as DJ T. Lewis, is a renowned and multifaceted DJ from Jackson, MS, and a class of 2006 graduate of Callaway High School. He also attended Jackson State University and was a member of JSU’s Sonic Boom of the South Marching Band. T. Lewis got his prospective start in the music industry at the age of 14 by throwing high-attendance parties under his own brand, T. Lewis Productions. It wasn’t long until he started working as a DJ at a prominent club in the Jackson area and carried his name over as his stage name DJ T. Lewis in an effort to keep the brand going that he had established within the party scene.
While at JSU, he garnered his passion for the art of performance. It was during these crucial years that he struck up a business relationship with his childhood friend, CJ Gibson, who had been working with Young Money Entertainment. Ultimately, CJ connected T. Lewis with Cortez Bryant, who brought T. Lewis on as the official tour DJ for Lil Wayne, a position that he still holds to this day.
Influenced by major players in the game, like DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Kid Capri, DJ Finesse (Jackson, MS), DJ Drama, DJ Scream, and DJ Scrap Dirty, T. Lewis developed a sound that is passionately innovative and musically captivating; clearly having the skills to take his experience behind the turntables to a new realm of next-level musicianship. He’s the DJ that can positively change the atmosphere in an entire room, and lift the aura to new heights to bring every party a whole new vibe that is charismatic, vibrant, uplifting, and energetic. “I command the crowd. I look for certain things that other DJs don’t look for.”
Since gracing the stage, T. Lewis has performed at a vast array of prominent clubs and events, including Firefly Festival, Cam Flog Gnaw, Made in America Festival, NBA Player Awards, NBA All-Star Game, Lil'Weezyana Fest, Houston Appreciation Weekend, Summer Jam, SXSW, Music Midtown, Billboard Hot 100 Festival, Coachella, Magnificent Coloring Day Festival and many other events in many cities. He has also worked alongside several industry heavyweights including TI, David Banner, Boo Rossini, Young Jeezy, Gorilla Zoe, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Tiny, Toya Wright, Cortez Bryant, Wiz Khalifa, Rae Sremmurd, 21 Savage, Big Bank, Nicki, Lil Twist, Gutta Gutta, Hoodie Baby, Chris Brown, Birdman, Mannie Fresh, Juvenile, Yung Joc, Migos, Post Malone, Lil Baby, Travis Porter, Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, Big Krit, French Montana, and Stuey Rock. He has also toured with and worked alongside superstars Drake and Yo Gotti. He was voted “DJ of the Year” three times in Jackson, has residencies at some of the largest nightclubs in Atlanta, and has industry co-signs with Cortez Bryant, Mack Maine, Cash Money Entertainment, and Young Money Entertainment.
His goal is to make it bigger than any DJ that has ever done it. He also wants to bring more attention and appreciation to DJs with a whole new level of respect and recognition for their innovative skill sets and pivotal placements in the industry overall. And with the experience, drive, and continuation of staying at the top of his game, T. Lewis is already making it happen.
