Isaiah Butler - a former Spann student and former Mississippi State University basketball player - returned to his alma mater to encourage young boys to work hard to fulfill their dreams. Butler, who has overcome many obstacles in his rise to recognition, talked of the many challenges he faced, how he dug deep inside himself to find strength, and how Spann students can do the very same.
After giving pep talks to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys, Isaiah played a quick 'pick up' game of basketball with some 4th and 5th graders.
When asked what he does when confronted by others who might taunt him on the court, Butler replied that he never retaliates verbally....but "let's the game do the talking".
What a great time it was having former Spann student Isaiah Butler back on campus.
