New Stage Theatre presented an in-school performance of The Reluctant Dragon, at Baker Elementary Thursday, September 25, 2014. "I know the students truly enjoyed the play just by looking at the smiles on their faces," said Baker principal Dr. Shauna Nicholson-Johnson. "The Baker Staff appreciates our adopters Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC for sponsoring not only this play but other plays presented by New Stage Theatre over the past six years."
The Arts in Education (AIE) program, uses the power of the arts to raise educational outcomes for learners and enrich overall quality of life for communities. AIE explores new ways of reaching students in and through the arts.
New Stage Theatre is a professional not-for-profit theatre. The company’s Arts in Education program travels throughout the state. A panel discussion between the actors and the students follows each performance. Students participate in a unique learning opportunity through this exchange. They explore the literature, the themes of the play, and the experience of acting.
