At the Board of Trustees Meeting on May 16, the Jim Hill High School Baseball Team was honored for being the first JPS baseball team to reach the second round of the MHSAA State Playoffs in 25 years. Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene and Principal Bobby Brown recognized the team for this accomplishment.
According to Principal Brown, the group of young men consistently display our Core Values of Positive Relationships, Excellence, and Growth Mindset on the field and in the classroom with a combined 3.25 grade point average. The Tigers compiled a regular season record of 12 wins and 6 losses. Six (6) games were canceled due to inadequate facilities and inclement weather. Their season ended with a loss to LaFayette County High School.
Jim Hill senior, Aubrey Thomas, was awarded a baseball scholarship to Tougaloo College.
