JPS JROTC Conducts 11th Annual Military Jamboree and Career Fair

Over 300 JROTC cadets from all JPS high schools along with cadets from Hazlehurst, Pearl and Vicksburg assembled in the Forest Hill High School gymnasium on October 4, 2018. The purpose of the event was to increase awareness of college and workforce opportunities among the participants. Representatives from institutions of higher learning, business and industry, and various military organizations were present to directly engage the cadets. The participating cadets obtained information about their college and career options after high school.

Organizations represented included the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY; U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO; Offices of Senator Roger Wicker and Congressman Gregg Harper; ROTC Officers from Georgia Military College, Alcorn State, Jackson State, Mississippi State and University of Mississippi; Military Recruiters from Army National Guard, Army Reserves, Marines and Air Force; Business, Industry and Community Colleges - Mississippi Coding Academy, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Entergy Mississippi, Hinds Community College, and Holmes Community College (Lineman Apprentice Program).
