Patriots Go to the Army National Drill Competition
Forest Hill High 5th Battalion ‘Patriots’ participated in the Annual Army JROTC National Drill competition hosted by Cadet Command Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp. Among 84 schools and 103 teams in Richmond, VA with almost two thousand cadets, the Patriots earned a ranking of 39 overall and tied for 45th in the Armed Division category. The Patriots fielded an armed exhibition, regulation, color guard and inspection team containing 21 cadets.
Congratulate the coach SFC Edward McDonald on an outstanding job of bringing this team back to the National Army Drill competition. The color guard team members are Cadet Colonel Brittany Bradley, Cadet Majors Talisha Brown, Cadet Major Darlisha Williams and Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Eliza Thompson. The armed regulation competing team members are Cadet Command Sergeant Major Micah Lee, Cadet Major Travis Adams, Cadet Major LeJaric Humphrey, Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Jamison Terry, Cadet Keandria Brown, Cadet Kianna McDaniel, Cadet Private Alexia Chancellor, Cadet Major Treasure Hill, Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Charles Murrah, Cadet Staff Sergeant Shania Fields, Alayjha Dove and Cadet Laila Palmer-Food, Makayla Latham. The armed team members are Cadet Malik Fleming, Cadet Private Caleb Rhodes, Cadet Captain Hannah McInnis and Cadet Sergeant Robert Hannah.
The team is welcoming the hard work required to achieve this honor in 2020 and they plan to bring home a trophy in several of the team divisions. These Patriots ‘Exhibited Nothing Less Than the Best’ and are the best JROTC program in the Jackson Public School District.
