#learning2lead at Forest Hill High in JROTC

jrotc trio  Annually the Patriot Battalion cadet    leadership and instructors tell incoming ninth graders and their parents about opportunities in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp program.  This is done in three ways: general Freshman Orientation, program orientation during the school day for all cadets and initial parent support group meeting of the year.  From August 5th through the 23rd program information was provided and questions answered as needed to encourage the growth of 5th Battalion success.  Program orientation introduces the cadets and parents to course content and expectations, team events and competition opportunities, potential community service and volunteer chances and introduction of program leadership.

The cadet leadership in the program provided all information that was presented at two of the three events.  They also set up a questiona and answer session in the LET I classes as a follow up to their sessions.

A little bit of the information given to parents, cadets and community supports is competion types and dates, volunteer opportunites including location and organization being supported, tutorial programs in varies locations, scholarship agencies and fun trips.
