Lead District Counselor Dr. LeSian Davis and Whitten Middle School Counselor Dr. Marion Robinson have been appointed to the Mississippi Professional School Counselor Advisory Council (MPSCAC) for the 2022-2023 school year.

“As an educator, it is an honor to be chosen to be a part of the MPSCAC,” said Dr. Davis. Being a member of this council will allow us to take suggestions and ideas from the elite counselors of Jackson Public Schools in an effort to not only ensure their voices are heard, but to strengthen their professional identity, increase student outcomes, advocate for students and the profession, and ensure student access to a comprehensive school counseling program in all schools.

The purpose of the MPSCAC is to provide feedback to the director of counseling and allow discussion from the field about critical topics that will lead to the improvement of Mississippi school counseling programs.
