Peeples Middle School Principal Dr. Spurgeon Banyard was selected as one of the featured presenters for the Louisiana Educators of Color Collective. The title of Dr. Banyard’s presentation is Empowering Faculty and Staff to Become Mentors.
During his presentation, he will address how mentoring improves student academic outcomes, helps them stay in school, volunteer in the community and develop skills to become successful adults. “I hope to inform educators that you must go beyond the confinements of school walls to reach our young people,” said Dr. Banyard. “Creating a culture that fosters and supports collaboration is crucial.”
The Louisiana Educators of Color Collective will be held virtually on June 6, 2022, from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at bit.ly/leadershipacademy2022.
