JPS schools will be celebrating College Spirit Day throughout the day on Friday, October 4, 2019. Schools will host pep rallies, contests, and other activities designed to promote a college-going culture among the District’s scholars from kindergarten through 12th grade.
This is an opportunity for every school community to instill in its students the goal and expectation that they will graduate from high school and go to college. So wear your favorite college colors, discuss opportunities, and learn about your options in order to say "I'm going to college!" Parents and our partners in the community are invited to join these celebrations.
Don't forget to share your College Spirit Day photos on Facebook and Twitter with #ImGoingToCollege.
College Spirit Day is an initiative of Ask for More Jackson and the Ask for More Collaborative. The event began in 2001 in the Lanier Feeder Pattern as part of the Collaborative's school reform work. Since then, it has grown to involve all of the District’s schools.
