JPS Bands Shine at Magnolia Marching Championships: Murrah High Takes Top Honors

Murrah's Sound of Perfection wins multiple awards at the 2024-2025 Magnolia Band Championships.
Congratulations to all the JPS bands for their outstanding performances and achievements at the Magnolia Marching Championships on September 28.
The Murrah High School Sound of Perfection Band earned the following top ratings:
- Three Superior Ratings for the Band
- Superior for Drum Major
- Superior for Percussion
- Excellent for Color Guard
Large Band Division Awards:
- 1st Place for Band
- 1st Place for Percussion
- 2nd Place for Color Guard
Overall Awards:
- 1st Place for Band Overall
- 1st Place for Percussion Overall
- 2nd Place for Color Guard Overall
The Murrah Band staff includes Ousman Camara, Kemima Caples, Orel Lee, Kaminah Evans, Jeremy Barner, Edwin Davenport, Noah Walker, Jerry Jackson, Christian Cone, and Rigel Robinson.
Other JPS high schools also competed and placed in the following categories:
