JPS Beautification Day 2022 Garners Generous Donations of Time and Resources from JPS Community
August 5, 2022
On Friday, July 29, JPS held its annual "All Hands-on Deck" Beautification Day districtwide. In addition to the wonderful beautification projects, this event helped to strengthen vital community partnerships in our schools. JPS is grateful for the generosity and dedication of individuals, the business community, and many nonprofit organizations throughout the Jackson metro area who consistently support the District.
Over 1,050 people volunteered at 48 JPS schools. Projects included sprucing up school entrances with landscaping projects like planting flowers and painting. Volunteers also helped teachers prepare classrooms to receive scholars on August 8, the first day of the 2022-2023 school year. To date, JPS Partners in Education has received $83,403.08 in donations for beautification projects.
“I want to extend very special thanks to Mt. Nebo and Morrison Heights churches,” said Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene. “They worked together to build a team of over 140 volunteers who worked every Sunday in July to complete beautification projects at Isable Elementary.”
Thank you to the Jackson community for helping the District with its goal of creating clean, beautiful, and joyful learning environments for our scholars.
