On Thursday, January 20, 2022, the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA) donated art supplies to scholars at Casey Elementary, Baker Elementary, and Provine High. The donations totaled nearly $7000, and The Beacon Supply contributed greatly to this effort.

The Beta Delta Omega (Jackson), Rho Lambda Omega (Jackson), and Gamma Omicron (Tougaloo) chapters presented the art supplies in celebration of their 114th Founders’ Day and in acknowledgment of “The Arts” as one of the current AKA administration’s program targets. “Our chapter is elated to exemplify our commitment to the community and our emphasis on artistic expression through this donation. We hope that the scholars of JPS use these art supplies to complement their artistic development,” said Candie L. Simmons, Beta Delta Omega Chapter President.
