JPS Hosts 2022 Virtual Winter Convocation Panel

2022 Winter Convocation Panel

 

The second semester of the 2021-2022 school year kicked off with a virtual Winter Convocation on January 5th. Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene welcomed all of the educators and staff back with enthusiasm and hope for a promising and successful second half of the school year.

The event began with a Pledge of Allegiance by Travarious Ragsdale and Ximena Urbana-Arreola, both students at Bates Elementary, and a greeting by Destiny Wilson, a junior at Provine High School.

Dr. Greene led an in-depth discussion about the impacts of the pandemic on the educational community with special guests, Ari Bradley; a Murrah High senior, Rashad Moore; an African American studies teacher at Jim Hill High, Aisha Williams, a counselor at Callaway High and Dr. Carrie Kirkland; a Jim Hill High and Northwest Middle school parent and coordinator for the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM ) Academy at Hinds Community College-Utica Campus.
