The Jim Hill High School football team will have a new look this season. They received some new uniforms from an alum who played football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and is now a Denver Bronco.
Jim Hill 2012 graduate and NFL star Fred Brown donated 70 jerseys to the Jim Hill High School football team.
"Fred Brown edifies all we aim to do within the vision of Jim Hill and Jackson Public Schools," said principal Bobby Brown.
Fred Brown is a wide receiver with the Denver Broncos. He wants to serve as an inspiration to students.
"If I can do it, you can do it," said Brown. "I walked the same halls and sat in the same seats as all of you. Don’t let anyone make you doubt yourself. Work hard, stay out of trouble, and make the right decisions and you will be successful."
As a high school junior, Brown caught 35 passes for the Tigers and accumulated over 1,000 all-purpose yards. He had 23 receptions for 419 yards and five touchdowns while also returning 20 kicks for 380 yards in his senior season. Brown, rated a three-star recruit, played college football at Mississippi State University.
