2019 Pepsi-JPS Basketball Tournament Champions

Congratulations to the Murrah girls and the Wingfield boys basketball teams. They are the 2019 Pepsi-JPS Holiday Basketball Tournament champions.

The Murrah Lady Mustangs claimed the championship for the girls after defeating the Vicksburg Missy Gators 47-45. Sophomore Mylani Galbreath was named the game MVP. The 5-9 forward scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds in the title game. Under head coach Anson Ross, the team has enjoyed an outstanding season, with a current record of 15-4.

The Wingfield Falcons defeated the Provine Rams 69-62 to capture the boys' championship. Jaqwone Curry was the game MVP. The 6-4 Wingfield senior plays point guard and shooting guard. He scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds in the game. Spencer Gatlin is the team's head coach. After their most recent win against Jim Hill, the team's current season record has gone to 14-6.
The 2019 Pepsi-JPS Holiday Basketball Tournament takes place annually during the Christmas break. The tournament is sponsored by Brown Bottling Group.
