Wells APAC Accepting Applications for Rising 4th and 5th Graders
Ida B. Wells APAC is launching a “Partnership in Discovery” enrollment opportunity for rising 4th and 5th graders. We are seeking ambitious scholars who are ready to be challenged and inspired by a program offering a strong foundation in advanced academics and award-winning arts instruction. Discover the world of possibilities in academics, dance, piano, strings, theatre, visual arts, and vocal performance. Parents may apply at jackson.k12.ms.us from April 12–23.
The special programs at Wells APAC offer advanced academic courses and specialized art classes starting in 4th grade and continuing through middle and high school. The all-around preparation and exposure in a setting that stretches scholars’ abilities prepares them for success in other endeavors during their school years and beyond.
“As the new principal at Wells APAC, I have had the opportunity to discover how the academics and the arts merge together to transform the lives of students every day,” said Dr. Kescher Love-Rankin, Wells APAC Principal. “The passion of our amazing teachers motivates students into excellency in all areas. We are excited to offer this opportunity of a lifetime to all rising 4th and 5th graders. It will be a decision that will positively and profoundly impact their life and future—both personally and professionally.”
“As a teacher at Wells APAC and as a parent of three JPS scholars, I enthusiastically encourage you to begin your APAC experience in 4th and 5th grade,” said Malaika Quarterman, Wells APAC Arts Coordinator, and Theatre Teacher. “It is the perfect opportunity for students to connect and create meaningful bonds with their peers and teachers before their big transition to middle school. They will get to enjoy those relationships and have access to high-quality academics and arts for nine years. The APAC program becomes your extended family!”
