  1. How do I register my student for pre-kindergarten?

    We are accepting enrollment applications through June 26. To qualify, children must be four years old by September 1, residents of the city of Jackson, and fully potty-trained. Parents of pre-kindergarten children can apply online. The application link, a list of required documents, and other details can be found on our Pre-K Enrollment page at ww.jackson.k12.ms.us/PreKEnrollment.

  2. How do I use ActiveParent?

    Jackson Public Schools uses ActiveParent for student management. Users with a login can check grades as well as register students for school. To use ActiveParent, you must know your username and password. If you do not remember this information, contact your child's school for assistance.   3. How do I order a school transcript?

    Former JPS students must use the Transcript/Diploma Request Form to request a transcript or diploma. The request asks for the name that you used when in school, your date of birth, the last JPS school you attended, and a clear copy of your photo ID. Additionally, we will ask you for a contact phone number. If you live in Jackson, we will contact you to pick up your transcript when it is ready.   4. What is the process for employment verification?

    JPS employees may submit Verification of Employment forms to the attention of Dwunya Haynes in the Office of Human Resources:

    All Verification of Employment forms will be processed and returned within 7–14 business days. 

    Due to COVID-19, the Office of Human Resources is operating with limited office staff. We are open for in-person service on Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Hours are 8 a.m.–3 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m.–12 p.m. on Thursdays.
