Power APAC Elementary Seeking Nominations for New Namesake

Established as an art and academic center in 1981, Power APAC has a tradition of providing a rigorous academic curriculum and intensive training in the performing and visual arts. The Broadway Revue (shown above) is an enthralling annual presentation of the theatre and dance departments.

Power APAC Elementary School will soon have a new name. The school is currently named after Confederate Colonel John Logan Power. The school's site-based committee is serving as the School Renaming Committee. The school began accepting public nominations for the new name October 6. The nomination phase will close Monday, October 12. To submit your nomination for a new name for Power APAC, please complete the Power Elementary School Renaming Nomination Form.

Power APAC is the District's only academic and performing arts center and has been faithful to its longstanding mission of providing excellence in the arts and academics by providing intensive training for academically talented students through a strong scholastic and specialty enrichment program. The school serves students in grades 4-12.
