JPS Superintendent Dr. Errick L. Greene is one of seven new members of the national nonprofit Chiefs for Change. The organization announced new members Thursday, October 1.

"The eight people we recently welcomed into membership are bold, thoughtful leaders who understand the power of education to improve lives," said Chiefs for Change Board Chair and San Antonio Independent School District Superintendent Pedro Martinez. "They are deeply committed to supporting all students at this moment and beyond."

Chiefs for Change is a bipartisan network of diverse school leaders who advocate for policies and practices that make a difference for students. The network's core beliefs are centered on the well-being of children and include safe and welcoming schools; access to an excellent education; fully prepared and well-supported teachers; high-quality instructional materials; and reliable and affordable pathways to college and careers. One of its major initiatives is the Future Chiefs Program which seeks to cultivate education leaders committed to ensuring every child has access to quality schools. Collectively, network members serve more than 7 million students across the country.

Dr. Greene was appointed Superintendent of Jackson Public Schools in October 2018. He has led the District through the development of a comprehensive five-year strategic plan to ensure all JPS scholars have excellent educational experiences.
