  • JMC scholars who participated in the competition

    JMC Scholars Compete in Speech competition along traditional JSU students.

    April 26, 2024. Congratulations to JMC scholars Kristen Rhodes, Karmen Hobson, and Khadarius Johnson who competed against Jackson State University in the first annual “Thee Presentations” competition, hosted by JSU’s Department of Speech Communication and Theater. Karmen Hobson won 2nd place with her informative presentation titled “The Importance of Getting Enough Sleep,” surpassing other traditional JSU college students.

    March 6, 2024 - As future educators, it is important to learn about different educational theories. This equips them with the knowledge of learning how children learn and develop, as well as, how to plan engaging lessons that support and challenge students' learning. David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory states that this type of learning results in new skills and new ways of thinking.

    2024 MS Educators Rising Competition

    February 25, 2024 - On February 22-233, 2024, twelve of our Jackson Middle College scholars represented our Career Development Center in the 2024 MS Educators Rising Competition. The event was held at Mississippi College. This was our first year attending and competing, and all our scholars placed.
