Mr. Cedric Johnson

I am honored and feel privileged to be a part of the Callaway Administrative Team in the capacity of assistant principal.

I am currently in my 22nd year as an educator. That time includes six years as a classroom teacher and coach, as well as the previous 15 as a school administrator. In those 15 years, I had the opportunity to serve as an alternative school principal for two years and an assistant principal at several 6-A high schools. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Delta State University, and I am currently working towards my Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern Mississippi.

I am prepared and excited to contribute my knowledge to Callaway High School in efforts to maximize the student learning experience. It continues to be a career goal of mine to help students reach their academic goals, as well as helping teachers find innovative methods to reach all students. I look forward to having the same opportunity here, while moving this school and the district forward.

Dr. Lisa Moore

Dr. Lisa Moore is an Assistant Principal at Callaway High School, where she previously served as an English teacher and is a proud alumni. Known for her passion to positively impact instructional practices for teachers, Dr. Moore is equally passionate for youth empowerment programs that build self-esteem and increase academic performance. From 2002-2005, she served as Principal of Durant Elementary School, where under her leadership, the Mississippi Department of Education awarded the school Value Added Recognition in the areas of Language Arts and Math. She has served as the Unit Director of Boys and Girls Club of Central, MS, maintaining community collaborations with Americorps as well as Faith-Based Organizations.

Dr. Moore often speaks of the paradigm shift that sparked a new level of interest in education for her-The Academies of Jackson. She was the first Freshman Academy Principal at Callaway High School. Throughout this assignment, she discovered that 9th grade is the most critical year for students and is widely considered the Freshman Bulge. Thus, she became a solid advocate for removing barriers and providing tools that connect freshman to long-term success. She often says, high schools can be successful, one freshman at a time. Dr. Moore’s leadership philosophy names teachers as the experts, accountability as a critical key, and data as the force of decision.

A native of Jackson, MS, Dr. Moore matriculated into Jackson State University and earned a B.A. in English, M.S. in Education Administration Supervision and Leadership, and Ed.D. in Early Childhood Education. An elastic talent, she easily shifts into her role as Director of Music at her church and Inspirational Speaker for many women and youth events. She is the youngest of eight siblings, the daughter of Maebell and Sylvester, and the wife of Jonathan Moore. Dr. Lisa Moore lives her true purpose when she encourages others to live theirs.
