Mrs. Conesha Barron

Director: Choral Activities

Welcome to Lanier High School's Vocal Music Department! I am so excited to share the knowledge and benefits of music with your child during the 2022-2023 school year. This year begins my 12th year teaching in public schools, and my 11th year as the Choral Director of the Lanier Concert Singers. In addition to our award winning choral program, I also teach Dual Credit Music Appreciation and AP Music Theory. It is my goal, as your child's teacher, to leave my classroom with more knowledge and understanding of music than from whence they came.

So, heres to a year of musical advancement in Advanced Placement Music Theory, and Choral Music. Please use this site to gain insight into what your child will be tasked with in my class. Also, to contact me with any questions. Heres to a challenging, fun-filled and successful year.

As well as, for them to learn how to use music as a mechanism in every aspect of life. To learn to create anything from all things foreign. To understand music of all genres. To use music as a positive force, and to allow music to inspire thoughts, positive feelings, and visions. Lastly, to achieve disciplining themselves enough to achieve inferring, form a plan, and organize that plan to meet goals. Yes, mom, it's a process that I have been trained for.

I ask that you push your child to do their very best even when it seems as if they are going to fall short. To allow me, as their mentor, to work to improve your child through rigorous and challenging lessons. If your child is to be the best, they have to have the best. In the end, you will find that your child will have an easier path because they have walked those paths before.
