High School Updates

We are excited to kick off our Summer Reading Program and introduce a wonderful collection of new titles curated specifically for each grade level. Our librarians have worked diligently to create engaging and enjoyable reading lists that encourage students to continue building strong literacy skills throughout the summer months.

While we encourage students to explore the exciting selections included in the Summer Reading Packet, we also want to ensure that students are aware of the required first-term novels for their English courses. To help students prepare for a successful start to the school year, we strongly advise students to read their required English novel first before moving on to the additional summer reading titles.

The required novels for each English course are listed below:

• English I: Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
• English II: Paper Towns by John Green
• English III: The Crucible by Arthur Miller
• English IV: Beowulf (StudySync follows the Heaney translation)

Please note: Students enrolled in Advanced Academic Programs should also review the additional attachment provided for their required summer reading assignments and expectations.

The required novels and summer reading selections are included in the attached Summer Reading Packet. We hope students will take advantage of this opportunity to grow as readers while discovering books they enjoy.
