English as a Second Language - Elementary

The English as a Second Language (ESL) program for kindergarten through fifth grade is offered as an intensive 30 minutes per day pull-out program of English-only instruction based on the student’s individual language proficiency level. These services are provided at Pecan Park Elementary, Spann Elementary, and Sykes Elementary schools.  Transportation is provided.

El programa de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) para kindergarten hasta quinto grado se ofrece como un programa intensivo de 30 minutos por día de instrucción en inglés, basado en el nivel de dominio del idioma individual del estudiante. Estos servicios se ofrecen en las escuelas primarias de Pecan Park, Spann Elementary y Sykes. Se proporciona transporte.

English as a Second Language - Secondary

The English as a Second Language (ESL) program in grades 6-12, is an intensive program of instruction designed to develop proficiency in the listening, speaking, reading, and writing of the English language. Students are enrolled in an ESL block according to their English proficiency level with a highly qualified ESL teacher where they learn functional, social and academic language to communicate in different settings.  These services are provided at Chastain Middle School, Whitten Prepatory Middle School, and Callaway High School.  Transportation is provided.  

El programa de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) en los grados 6-12, es un programa intensivo de instrucción diseñado para desarrollar el dominio en la escucha, habla, lectura y escritura del idioma inglés. Los estudiantes están matriculados en un bloque de ESL de acuerdo a su nivel de dominio de inglés con un profesor de ESL altamente calificado donde aprenden lenguaje funcional, social y académico para comunicarse en diferentes entornos.  Estos servicios se ofrecen en las escuelas Chastain Middle, Whitten Prepatory, y Callaway High.  Se propociona transporte.
