Jackson Public Schools is thankful to the Junior League of Jackson (JLJ) and the Community Foundation for Mississippi for investing $96,500 in our teachers’ ideas and our scholars’ growth. 

Through the Public School Mini-Grants Program, 18 projects across numerous schools will come to life, from launching an E-sports collaborative and expanding hands-on STEM learning to building Jim Hill High School’s new theatre department and enhancing sensory spaces for our youngest learners.

Each of these projects represents an educator’s commitment to creativity, connection, and opportunity in the classroom.

These grants will fund everything from STEM kits and literacy tools to creative arts, sensory regulation resources, and wellness programs, all designed to help JPS scholars thrive.

JLJ is a women’s organization dedicated to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through effective action and leadership. Founded in 1941, JLJ is now one of the largest Leagues in the country with nearly 2,200 members. Its community work focuses on supporting PreK–5th grade children and their caregivers in Jackson, advancing academic growth, essential needs, and health and well-being.
