Jackson Public Schools has appointed Shonta Davis as Director of Talent Operations. In this role, she will provide strategic leadership for Talent Operations and help ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant personnel processes throughout the employee lifecycle.

Davis began her career with JPS in 2015 at Clausell Elementary School. In 2016, she joined the Office of Talent Management & Development, formerly Human Resources, as a personnel specialist, where she supported personnel transactions, employee records, and key processes for schools and departments across the district.

During her tenure in the office, Davis also oversaw the district’s Family and Medical Leave Act processes and became a trusted resource for employees navigating leave-related matters. Her experience with personnel operations, compliance, employee data, and customer service contributed to her transition into a supervisory role in 2021.

As Director of Talent Operations, Davis will support the coordination and operation of the Office of Talent Management & Development by helping oversee personnel processing, employment records, compensation administration, employment contracts, position control, risk management functions, and operational procedures that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and service to JPS employees.

Davis holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Her background in human resources, personnel processes, and employee support will continue to strengthen the district’s talent operations and advance the office’s commitment to responsive, data-informed, and employee-centered service.
