Jackson Public Schools recognizes that some families in our community face challenges related to food insecurity. The District remains committed to supporting our scholars and their families by providing access to nutritious meals beyond the regular school day. The expansion of the JPS Supper Meal Program is one more way the District is meeting this need with care, dignity, and consistency.
JPS will host the Supper Meal Program to the following school sites:
-
Bates Elementary, 3180 McDowell Road Extension
-
Spann Elementary, 1615 Brecon Drive
-
Walton Elementary, 3200 Bailey Avenue
-
Blackburn Middle, 1311 West Pearl Street
-
Kirksey Middle, 5677 Highland Drive
-
Forest Hill High, 2607 Raymond Road
-
Jim Hill High, 2185 Coach Fred Harris Street
-
Lanier Jr. Sr. High, 833 West Maple Street
These locations were selected based on participation data from the District’s Summer Meal Program, which identified them as high-traffic and easily accessible sites for families.
The Supper Meal Program will begin on Monday, November 3, 2025, and will operate Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Each meal served through the program is well-balanced and designed to meet the nutritional needs of growing children. Meals include meat, bread, a vegetable, fruit, and milk or juice. All meals are free for scholars and available to adults for $4.00.
In accordance with program guidelines, scholars are required to enjoy their meals onsite, while adults may take their meals to go after payment.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from meal sites. Churches and faith-based organizations are encouraged to assist families who may need transportation support.
Those who wish to support the JPS Supper Meal Program through donations may do so by contacting the Community Foundation for Mississippi. We also encourage contributions to the Mississippi Food Network to help provide meals for families in need.
The Supper Meal Program reflects Jackson Public Schools’ ongoing commitment to addressing the whole child, ensuring that every scholar has access to the nourishment needed to learn, grow, and thrive.
