Dr. LeSian C. Davis has been selected to serve as the Interim Executive Director of Climate and Wellness for the Jackson Public School District. In this role, she oversees districtwide initiatives that address school climate, mental health, wellness, and social-emotional development, ensuring that students are equipped with the support necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Dr. Davis previously served as Director of Counseling Services for Jackson Public Schools.

With a strong professional foundation in counseling and more than twenty years of experience delivering comprehensive academic and behavioral counseling services across grades K–12, Dr. Davis is deeply committed to ensuring equitable access to high-quality mental health services for all scholars. Her work emphasizes counseling, social-emotional learning (SEL), and proactive intervention strategies designed to remove barriers to learning and promote student success.

A devoted change agent within her community and district, Dr. Davis is widely recognized as an advocate, educator, and servant leader. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in the principles of Servant Leadership, guiding her efforts to uplift students, staff, and families alike. During her tenure within the department, Dr. Davis played a pivotal role in leading the adoption of the nationally recognized American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Model. This framework now serves as a guiding force for counseling practices across the district, helping to transform scholar outcomes and provide renewed direction for scholars seeking academic, personal, and career guidance.

Dr. Davis brings a wealth of practical experience to her leadership role, having served as an elementary, middle, and high school counselor throughout her career. She began her professional journey as a guidance counselor at Capital City Alternative School, where she developed a passion for supporting students with diverse needs and backgrounds. Her extensive experience across multiple educational settings allows her to approach district leadership with a comprehensive and student-centered perspective. In addition to her district responsibilities, Dr. Davis currently serves as Treasurer for the Magnolia State School Counselors Association, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing the counseling profession statewide.

Dr. Davis is a proud graduate of Jackson State University. There, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Master of Science in Counseling, and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Supervision. Her academic journey reflects her lifelong dedication to learning, leadership, and service.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Davis is a trusted community partner who has worked tirelessly to uplift and empower countless individuals. Her service reflects the same spirit of support and encouragement that shaped her own journey as a promising educator. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and dancing; however, her most treasured moments are spent making lasting memories with her family and friends.
