Community

  • The effectiveness of a school is directly tied to the level of interest, support, and involvement of the community. Jackson leaders and citizens actively contribute their time and resources to the improvement of Jackson's public schools. Over 1,500 men and women from organizations throughout the metro Jackson community invest approximately 19,000 hours of service in the District's schools annually. Many of the volunteers come from businesses, while others come to serve in JPS through civic groups, churches, government and military organizations, and higher education institutions.
