Please see your child's teacher for a copy of our library newsletter, "The Eaglet," or you may email the librarian for a copy. Please read over it with your child to stay in-the-know about library activities, e-books, and logging in to educational and reading sites.

Encyclopedia Britannica: Online version of one of the world's most trusted sources of information on every topic imaginable. Please Almanac- Online almanac offering millions of interesting and useful facts on a wide variety of subjects. Internet Public Library: An exhaustive collection offering millions of interesting and useful facts on a wide variety of subject. Monster: designed for kids of all ages, this site offers an amazing array of facts, and figures in addition to homework help, an almanac, dictionary and much more. NewsELA: Provides engaging, relevant content that both teaches and inspires. Newsela is an innovative way to build reading comprehension with nonfiction daily news that's always relevant. Wonderopolis: Focuses on subjects of which children are curious. This immediately engages the child and encourages them to learn more. A video is included in each topic of information. Story Maker: Students can create their own digital stories. They can choose their characters, setting, and topic. Children have many opportunities for creativity, as they can change the setting and add details to their stories. Students can preview before they print and share their stories. and Wordle & Tagxedo: Both of these sites offer interactive word clouds. Wordle is more user-friendly for early elementary students. Tagxedo offers many more creative outlets (shapes, colors, sizes). Each site is visually stimulating and allows for individual creativity. - Student dictionary and rhyming dictionary online at Merriam-Webster's website.
