Degrees and Certifications:

Cynthia Wheat

I am Mrs. Cynthia Wheat. I was born and raised in Jackson, MS, and I am a proud alum of Jackson Public Schools. After working in the banking sector for several years, I decided to change career paths in 2000. It was then that I attended Jackson State University where I received my bachelor’s degree in education. I began my teaching career in 2007. Schools have certainly changed over the years, and I’ve continued to learn, improve, and grow in my profession. I have taught many grades and subjects over the years, but I have landed my dream job serving as a Reading Interventionist.  I still live in Jackson with my husband, Sammy, of 30 years. We have five children and, as of today, seven wonderful grandchildren. You can describe me as hardworking and committed. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, singing, exercising, and serving at my local church, New Horizon Church International.
