Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Laura Womack

I grew up in Madison County, where I currently live with my husband and son.  I attended Madison Central High School, where I was a member of the band, choir, and in the Mentor program.  After high school, I attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS.  While there I participated in the marching and concert bands, the jazz choir, concert choir and mass choir, and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors society.  During my last year, I became an officer for the society.  I graduated with my Associate's degree, and went on to Mississippi College in Clinton.  While there, I was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association and was a member of the Women's Chorus.  I graduated with my Bachelor of Music Education in December of 2013.  I began teaching at Poindexter Elementary August of 2014.  I served my Poindexter family for three years until the decision was made to close the school.  While at Poindexter, I began my Masters of Music Education with Mississippi College.  I then went on to teach at Van Winkle Elementary school.  I graduated from MC with my masters in 2017.  While at Van Winkle, I have earned two levels of Orff certification, and intend to finish the third level.  I actively participate in my church choir and have participated in the Mississippi Chorus.  I am currently serving on the Board of the Mississippi Boychoir.  I have future goals of achieving my National Board Certification and a PH.D. in music education.
