The Lanier Concert Singers

  • The Lanier Concert Singers is a choral non-profit organization composed of 20-30 students. These talented students share a common interest in vocal music. No matter the call, our singer will suit the needs of a school of peers, parents or Dignitaries in Capitals and Concert Halls. This organization not only prepares students to be performers, but to be successful, responsible and goal-oriented adults. We welcome you to join us in Jubilation! Come sing a song of Joy! Please feel free to contact Mrs. Conesha Barron for more information concerning The Lanier Concert Singers cbarron@jpsms.org

  • On April 2, 2021, The Lanier Singers (Conesha Barron) invited the Callaway Choir (Jaime Jones) to join in on a trip to Atlanta, GA. They were to compete with choirs from all over the South. This would be their first trip out of the state to compete on a national platform.

While in Atlanta, the students observed performances by choirs in places like Memphis, TN, Kansas and North Carolina. These students had the opportunity to work with world renowned directors, and competed for ranking in their area.  The Lanier Singers and Callaway Singers received 1st and 2nd Silver in their division. The students were motivated by the awards ceremony and by the advice of the university directors.

We would like to thank the many supporters for giving our students the opportunity to experience a chance to challenge themselves on a national level. With your help, we were able to pay for 36 students to have a once in a lifetime experience.  We hope that you will continue to support the students in their efforts to compete again.
