Dr. Adrienne Lacey Griffin, Principal
Dr. Griffin previously served as an assistant director of Diverse Learners in the DeKalb County School District in Georgia. While there, she coordinated professional development in specialized instruction for diverse learners and supported the district with special education compliance. She developed curriculum and supportive instruction for students in exceptional education programs. Before that, she served as a director of Special Education for the St. Louis Public School District and the Natchez-Adams School District where she implemented and maintained programs for at risk students and students with disabilities. Dr. Griffin started her career in education in the Orleans Parish Public School System in New Orleans. She has worked as an educator, administrator or school improvement consultant with and for systems in Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Missouri.
Dr. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Dillard University and completed her Alternative Teacher's Certification at Tulane University, both in New Orleans. She completed a Master of Education degree in Special Education at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. She earned a Specialist in Educational Leadership at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, and her Doctor of Education degree in School Improvement at the State University of West Georgia.
Dr. Griffin's additional professional activities include serving as a presenter for the Georgia Association for Pupil Transportation, on the board of directors for the National Alternative Education Association, and on AdvancED/SACS School Improvement Process teams.
