Kimberly Hulitt-Griggs

Ms. Griggs started her journey with Jackson Public Schools as a student attending Whitfield Elementary, currently known as Pecan Park Elementary.  Kim matriculated on to attend Blackburn Middle School, and graduated from Richland High School in 1997.  Ms. Griggs returned to JPS after graduating from Jackson State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology.  She worked as an instructional assistant and limited service teacher before obtaining her Master’s of Arts in Teaching degree also from JSU in 2011.  In 2016, Ms. Griggs received training through MAPQSL which is a program designed in training educators to obtain a certification in school leadership.  Ms. Griggs has served as a teacher’s assistant, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher, school level interventionist, and currently assistant principal.  She has not only been a student with JPS, but served families in the JPS district for the past 19 years.  Ms. Griggs has one daughter who is also a product of JPS and is currently in her freshman year at University of Southern Mississippi.

Dr. Nicol Sanders-Hemphill

Dr. Hemphill began her teaching career at John Hopkins Elementary School 20 years ago. She also attended John Hopkins as a student in all of her elementary years. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in Elementary Education from Jackson State University. She also received her Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Jackson State University. She is a proud graduate and product of Jackson Public Schools. Dr. Hemphill has a vested interest in John Hopkins and the community it serves.
