The teachers at JES are committed and supportive educators who continually search for ways to enhance teaching and learning. For this reason, it is our desire to create a wonderful experience for each child who walks through the doors at JES.

Mrs. Morgan Davis

Biography

Mrs. Morgan Davis, Assistant Instructional Leader of Johnson Elementary School, brings over ten years of elementary education experience from the Jackson Public School District and Hinds County Schools. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jackson State University; a Masters in Elementary Education from Mississippi College; and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. After receiving her Educational Specialist degree, she decided to embark upon a new venture - a Doctorate in Education from Mississippi College - in preparation of furthering her leadership skills as she transitioned from the role of the classroom teacher to school administrator.

Mrs. Davis enjoys teaching; analyzing curriculum design and implementation via instruction; and building relationships, in turn, developing and increasing leadership capacity in others. She attributes those ideals to her major accomplishments in education as she has been recognized in the Jackson Public School District and Hinds County Schools for her outstanding expertise and student growth and achievement on district and state-mandated assessments. Mrs. Davis believes, “The purpose of education is to teach students the necessary knowledge and skills to become active members of society. Moreover, the role of education is to enhance students’ morals, values, and character so that they may be tangible models for other members of society to follow. Realizing the role of a teacher as critical – one comparable to life and death – I understand the importance of what happens in a classroom can create hope or hopelessness for each child. Therefore to be deemed an educator is an honor - a distinct privilege - which we as educators should not take lightly at any time.”

Mrs. Davis is a servant leader who truly has a love and passion for service and educating children as she presumes these gestures allow our community and our city to become a better place.
