Dr. Naomi Hulitt-Welch

Dr. Naomi Hulitt-Welch will serve at principal of Peeples Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.  Dr. Welch brings over 15 years of educational experience with her to Jackson Public Schools. Dr. Welch’s previous educational assignments have spanned the state of Mississippi. She began her teaching career in Yazoo City, MS.  From there she taught in the Hinds County School District, Jackson Public School District, Mississippi Department of Education (serving Jackson Public Schools and Hollandale School District), and Vicksburg- Warren School District.

Dr. Welch is a native of Jackson, MS. She is a proud graduate of John W. Provine High School. Upon graduating from Provine, she attended Mississippi Valley State University for freshman year. She completed her undergraduate studies at Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass. Communications with an emphasis on Broadcast Journalism. She also holds a minor degree in Sociology from Jackson State University. Dr. Welch later attended Mississippi College to obtain a Master of Teaching Arts, Specialist of Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate degree of Curriculum and Instruction. She also recently completed the National Institute for School Leaders with the Vicksburg- Warren School District. 

Dr. Welch believes that all children can learn when the proper tools are put into place. She believes that education is power and everyone has a responsibility to gain that power. Dr. Welch believes that success is built where consistency is mastered, because consistency is more important than perfection. What we do consistently matters.
