Dr. Shenetra Burse-Dawson is the Principal at REAP. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, and a product of the Jackson Public School District, Dr. Dawson is a graduate of Callaway High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Tougaloo College. She completed three advanced degrees from Jackson State University—a Master of Science in Teaching in Mathematics, an Education Specialist in Secondary Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision. During her educational career, she has served as a teacher, interventionist, and coordinator of the JPS Career Academic Placement Program.

Dr. Dawson and her husband, Dedrick, are the proud parents of one son, Jonathan. She is a member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson. She is also a member of several other professional and civic organizations where she works tirelessly to serve the needs of others. She is a firm believer that "through Christ all things are possible."
