Mr. Donald Boyd

Mr. Boyd is a graduate from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Russian. He received his Master of Biological Sciences as well as a Specialist degree in Education Leadership from Mississippi College. He is currently working on his doctorate in Education Leadership. When Mr. Boyd is not at work or in class, he serves as pastor of New Freedom Tabernacle of Praise Church in Meridian, Mississippi. He was an assistant principal at Kirksey Middle School and principal of Siwell, which closed in 2020, before coming to Cardozo.

Mr. Tracie Nave, Assistant Principal

Mr. Nave has been an educator for 18 years.  He has taught Math and Science in Cypress Fairbanks ISD and Alief ISD in Houston, TX.  He became an assistant principal in 2014.  He has also served in the U.S. Navy, Naval Reserve, and Air Force Reserve.

Ms. Candice Beasley, Assistant Principal

Ms. Beasley has been a professional educator since 2003 and a school-level administrator in Jackson Public Schools since 2018. Before moving to Jackson, she served as the Instructional Specialist for grades 5–8 in the Hazlehurst school system. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Masters in Elementary Education from Jackson State University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Mrs. Summer Rigney

Mrs. Rigney has been serving in education since 2015.  Before entering administration, Mrs. Rigney taught English Language Arts and reading at both middle and high school levels.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi, and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.  She believes reading is the foundation for all educational success and cannot wait to watch our scholars accomplish great things this year!
