School Support

Department Overview

The Office of School Support ensures that all scholars have equitable access to high-quality educational experiences through the effective use of federal funds.  We oversee federal education budgets for Titles I-A, II-A, III-A, IV-A, and McKinney-Vento (Homeless) programs and provide school and district leaders with guidance on leveraging these resources to deliver supplemental educational opportunities that prepare scholars to thrive in a global society.

  • Title I – Provides funding to improve academic achievement for scholars in schools with high percentages of low-income families.

  • Title II – Supports professional development and training for teachers and leaders to strengthen instruction.

  • Title III – Provides resources to help English Learners attain English proficiency and meet academic standards.

  • Title IV – Expands access to a well-rounded education, supports safe and healthy schools, and enhances the use of technology in learning.

  • McKinney-Vento – Ensures that children and youth experiencing homelessness have equal access to education and necessary supports.
