Police Department Overview
Department Overview

The Jackson Public Schools Police Department is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and supportive environment for all scholars, staff, and visitors.
Working in close partnership with school administrators, families, and local emergency agencies, our sworn officers and security personnel actively protect district facilities and events.
Beyond physical security, our department focuses on building positive relationships with scholars, mentoring youth, and fostering a safe culture where learning can thrive.
The JPS Campus Enforcement Department maintains a comprehensive team of sworn police officers, non-sworn safety officers, analysts, and technicians dedicated to keeping our schools safe. Responsible for monitoring 91 district buildings and approximately 1,650 acres of land, the department safeguards around $8 million in inventory while providing full security for scholars, parents, employees, visitors, and district property. Demonstrating their round-the-clock commitment to community safety, the team responds to approximately 36,500 calls for service each year.
