Records and Transcripts serves as the trusted steward of student information, ensuring that every record is accurate, secure, and accessible when it matters most. We support scholars, families, schools, and district leaders by maintaining the integrity of academic records and providing timely transcript and enrollment services that help scholars transition smoothly from one opportunity to the next.
Request a Transcript or Diploma
To request a transcript or diploma, follow the listed procedures:
- Submit a written request using the Transcript/Diploma Request Form. Include your name/maiden name, date of birth, last school attended, and last year attended along with a contact phone number, and a clear copy of your photo ID.
- Scan and forward your request to transcripts@jackson.k12.ms.us. If you reside within the city of Jackson or in the surrounding area, you can come to pick up your transcript during business hours from 8am to 5pm; Monday-Friday. Transcript request forms will be available. There is a $5 cash fee (exact change) or money order.
- If you are not within the city of Jackson, you will need to mail in the transcript request form, a clear copy of your photo ID, and a $5.50 money order ($5 for a copy of the transcript and .50 cents for postage). Money orders must be payable to Jackson Public Schools.
- If you are requesting an official transcript to be sent to an official agency (college, university, employer), please include the mailing address of the agency requesting the information. You should also include a $5.50 money order for each requested transcript. ($5 for a copy of the transcript and .50 cents for postage.) Money orders must be payable to Jackson Public Schools.
- If you are requesting a diploma to be ordered, please include $4.89 for each diploma and $6.65 for each diploma cover. Money orders for diplomas and covers must be payable to Jostens. If ordering both diploma and cover, two separate money orders will be required — a $4.89 money order for the diploma and a $6.65 money order for the cover.
Transcripts are available for pickup the same day. If further research has to be done, please allow 3 to 5 days for processing transcripts and 6 to 12 weeks for processing diplomas.
Note: Jackson Public Schools cannot order diplomas for high schools that are now closed (ex: Brinkley High School). If you have a question concerning what schools are closed, please contact us for verification before ordering.
Request a Student Record
Schools/ authorized educational agencies should include the following information on an official letterhead when making a request for student records:
- Name of School/authorized educational agency
- Name of Student
- Grade Level
- Date of Enrollment
- MSIS number (only applies to school districts within the state of Mississippi)
- District Code (only applies to school districts within the state of Mississippi)
- School/Agency’s person of contact along with number and email address
- School or Agency’s mailing address
All record requests should be sent to Enrollment Strategy and Data Systems. Requests will be processed in the order they are received.
All verification of graduation requests should be sent to Records and Transcripts. Requests will be processed in the order they are received.
