Mrs. Sherekia Dixon

Mrs. Dixon has been a part of the JPS family for 17 years.  She previously served as an assistant principal at John Hopkins Elementary.  The areas she supported included adminsitration and supervision of the School Based Day Treatment Program, personnel, academic policy, and implementation of curricular standards.  Her educational experiences started as a 3rd grade teacher at Woodville Heights Elementary.  During her tenure with JPS, she has served in the roles of classroom teacher, gifted teacher, interventionist, science area supervisor, professional development specialist, and assistant principal.

Mrs. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Tougaloo College.  She also holds a Master of Arts and Specialist Degree from Mississippi College.  Mrs. Dixon received her Administration certification from the Mississippi Department of Education MAPQSL in 2009.

Mrs. Mary Alston

Mrs. Mary Alston has been a part of the JPS family for seven years.  She has served as Assisstant Principal for McLeod Elementary for the last two years.  The areas she has supported are testing, academic policy, and implementation of curricular standards.  She served four years as Kindergarten teacher at Walton Elementary, two years as lead teacher and she was also selected as Walton Elementary Teacher of the Year.  She served one year as Kindergarten lead teacher at McLeod Elementary.  Mrs. Alston also serves as the School Testing Coordinator and Frontline representative for McLeod Elementary.  During her educational career in other districts, Mrs. Alston has also served as an administrator, gifted teacher, and District Testing Coordinator.

Mrs. Alston holds a Specialist's degree in Administration and Gifted certification from the University of Mississippi.  She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Delta State University.
