Dr. Eric Cook, Principal
A native of Newton, Mississippi, Dr. Eric Cook has served in the field of public education for twenty-eight years. He is a graduate of Jackson State University, where he earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees. He also attended Harvard University and Fordham University for post-doctoral studies. He began his career as a high school math teacher at the Mississippi School for the Deaf for 8 years. For the past 20 years, he has served the students of Jackson Public Schools as both assistant principal and principal at the elementary and high school levels. Currently, he serves as Principal at the Career Development Center and is the JPS Director of Career and Technical Education.
Dr. Cook is deeply committed to the concept of teaching the whole scholar and believes that scholars who are truly engaged will excel.
