The Jackson Middle College High School program is JPS' newest Advanced Academic program. This program features a partnership with Jackson State University to establish a "Grow-Your-Own" Mathematics Educator development component, allowing participants to complete the first two years of college while in high school (tuition-free). The Middle College is for highly motivated, disciplined, rising 11th-grade scholars interested in Mathematics. JMC scholars will work to meet all teacher licensure requirements before returning to teach for JPS for a minimum of three years.
Requirements
- Be a rising 11th grader.
- ACT Composite of 19 or above; ACT Math of 19 or above; ACT English/Reading of 18 or above.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 Scale.
- Have a proficiency level score of 4 or 5 on the Algebra 1 Exam.
- Completed Middle College Application.
- Three Letters of Recommendation
