Department Overview

  • The mission of Jackson Public Schools Homeless Education Program (HEP) is to support students and their families living in a homeless situation or that are in transition.

The Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 amended the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, Education for Homeless Children and Youth program and Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
