Parent-Teacher Conference Day Moved to Monday, October 21
October 11, 2019 – All JPS schools will have Parent-Teacher Conference Day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, October 21. Report cards will be issued to parents. There will be no school for students.

MDOT Closure of I-20 in Jackson to Impact Routes for JPS Students and Employees
October 10, 2019 – Work begins Friday, October 18. JPS families and employees are encouraged to plan alternate routes in advance.

19 JPS Teachers Awarded Scholarships To Pursue National Board Certification
October 9, 2019 – The scholarships were made possible through a partnership between Mississippi Professional Educators and the Mississippi Department of Education with funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Winter Break begins with a 60% day at JPS schools on Friday, December 20. Dismissal times are as follows:
- Elementary Schools, 12 p.m.
- Middle Schools, 12:30 p.m.
- High Schools, 1:30 p.m.
All JPS schools and offices will be closed December 23–January 3 for Winter Break.
Teachers and staff return Monday, January 6.
Students return Tuesday, January 7.
