Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Compulsory Attendance is to find new methods, skills, and techniques to decrease absenteeism and truancy while increasing the graduation rate. We are here to raise the level of awareness concerning guidelines, policies, and procedures regarding attendance. The Office of Compulsory Attendance is here to bridge the gap between students, parents, faculty and the community. "We are our student's keeper and will not allow them to fall behind."
Compulsory School Attendance Law
Mississippi law requires regular school attendance for every child who has reached the age of six on or before September 1 of the current calendar year and has not reached the age of 17 on or before September 1 of the current calendar year.
