The Mission of the Lanier High School Band program is to build musical foundations so that students can be proficient performers on their instruments and in music theory and to provide a positive family atmosphere in which students can learn and exemplify the core ethical values of Pride, Discipline and Unity. These three values are important for student growth and are taught to be utilized not only in the marching band, but also in real life circumstances and most importantly, in their classrooms. The students should leave the Lanier High School band hall exuding:

Pride - in themselves and the belief that they will become positive citizens of their communities,

Discipline - to transcend all obstacles successfully without cutting corners, and

Unity - by learning to work diligently with others through positive interaction with their peers and their elders.
